Restaurant Clos de la Ribaudière

The welcome was very friendly. There was no background music, which created a rather gloomy atmosphere. The value for money was very disappointing. All the dishes were served with pot-au-feu vegetables and a deli-style sauce. Ordering a sole à la carte for €45, they give you a demonstration of haute cuisine by serving two tiny 3cm x 8cm fish fillets that were tasteless and very firm, so we suspect they came straight from the freezer! And… served with two tablespoons of rather bland mashed potatoes. As for the dessert, the pear poached in wine didn't taste of wine at all, but only of very strong, spicy cinnamon, even though there was a tiny, delicious but barely perceptible filling inside. Very disappointed, especially for a Relais & Châteaux property! …so this restaurant is not up to standard. A real shame for them! Let's hope the chef gets back on track and decides to cook simpler, tastier food.

We booked the st valentines dinner. It was super. Very impressed by the organisation of the serving staff and serving of tables. Hotel is great also.

A truly fantastic experience, thanks to Ryan, the owner, and the rest of the team for taking such good care of us. As for the food, my partner and I opted for the tasting menu. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the dishes were perfect, and the portions were just right—in short, a wonderful time. I was completely plastered by the end, though, so be careful on the road, dear Google users.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy the Ribaudière Menu (€95 per person), served in seven courses. Lunch service, weekdays. Everything was excellent, with unique flavors and combinations, high-quality ingredients, and attentive yet unobtrusive service. Portions varied depending on the course, but were more than adequate. And for those with a heartier appetite, the cheese trolley was generously stocked and the dessert was a standard size. We left the table completely satisfied, our palates still lingering with the delicious flavors we had tasted. Kudos to the entire team for a truly wonderful experience.

So much to complain about: the welcome, the service, and the atmosphere were deplorable. Dinner dragged on forever; we arrived at 8:15 pm and didn't finish until 11:45 pm. With a wedding playing in the background, our hopes of a quiet dinner were completely ruined. We would have preferred to have been warned.
